Final voting is now open for the 2006 CMT Music Awards, country music’s only fan-voted awards. Through April 7, fans can vote to determine the winners for CMT’s fifth annual awards show, broadcast live from the Curb Events Center at Belmont University in Nashville on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 8 PM (EST) on CMT.
Faith Hill leads the 2006 CMT Music Awards with four nominations, followed by three nominations each for Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney. Newcomers Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Sugarland and Little Big Town each received their first CMT nominations. Bon Jovi’s duet with Jennifer Nettles also received a nomination.
More than 1.2 million votes were cast to determine the finalists. Fans can vote online at CMT.com through Friday, April 7 to determine the winners. The final nominees for Video of the Year will be announced at the beginning of the show, and fans can vote at CMT.com throughout the live broadcast (8-10 p.m. ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner. 2006 CMT Music Awards Final Nominees
