Trisha Yearwood is the latest celebrity to sport a “milk mustache” as part of the Got Milk? campaign. As a three-time Grammy winner, two-time winner of the Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist Award, she has released 20 top ten singles and sold over 10 million copies.
Yearwood’s Got Milk ad reads, “I grew up on a farm so I’ve been singing milk’s praises my whole life. Studies suggest that the nutrients in 3 glasses of lowfat or fat free milk a day can help you maintain a healthy weight. And the protein helps build muscle. Exercise, eat right, and drink milk to look your best. Sounds great, right?”
A graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Yearwood has performed at the Academy Awards, the Olympics and the Library of Congress. She sang with Luciano Pavarotti, one of world’s most famous vocal performers, in the summer of 1998 at his benefit for Liberian children. Yearwood received a 2008 Grammy nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Heaven, Heartache And the Power of Love” and was named one of Redbook’s “Women of the Year” (2005). Yearwood was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1999.
