Toby Keith’s charity golf tournament, “Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic,” is scheduled for May 6 and 7, 2005. Proceeds benefit Ally’s House charity, whose mission is to assist the families of Oklahoma children with cancer. The inaugural event last year raised more than $250,000. “The event was an incredible success last year,” said Keith. “And this year we’ll step it up another notch for these kids.”
The “Classic” kicks off Friday night, May 6th at the Bricktown Coca-Cola Event Center in Oklahoma City with a pre-event party and concert. During the festivities, attendees will be able to bid on celebrity-donated items in live and silent auctions, and Toby Keith and special guests will perform.
The following day, golf teams will tee off with a celebrity guest player whose name they will have drawn the night before. The winner of a closest-to-the-pin contest that will run concurrently with the golf tournament will receive the keys to a brand new Ford truck.
“We’ve had a tremendous response again from celebrities for our auctions,” said Linda Webb, the organizationπs director. “Everyone is opening their hearts to Allyπs House and the kids we serve.”
The auction will include items such as an autographed guitar from Willie Nelson, autographed glove, bat and hat from Roger Clemons, a Lake Tahoe Ski package, a Universal Studios Orlando package and a Terminator Mini Chopper signed by celebrities from the 2005 CMT Music Awards.
Tickets for the pre-event and golf teams will be entered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those interested in pricing and availability may contact Allyπs House at (405) 307-0478.
Ally’s House is named after Allison Webb, daughter of Keith’s friend and original bandmate Scott Webb. Ally died in August of 2003, one month short of her third birthday, from a form of kidney cancer called Wilm’s tumors.
Ally’s House is a 501 (c) 3 organization. Donations can be sent to: Ally’s House, P.O. Box 722767, Norman, Oklahoma 73070.
