Sugarland shattered attendance records at River Rhythms in Albany, Oregon last night (July 14). As reported by the Albany Democrat-Herald, Sugarland drew 17,550 people to Monteith Park in the second concert of the summer series, eclipsing the crowd of more than 16,000 that saw the Dixie Chicks play in 1998.
“It exceeded our expectations,” said coordinator Jan Taylor. “We knew there would be a lot of people, but this was amazing.”

Windows Media. Food vendors faced long lines and a number of downtown restaurants reported being busier than usual.
“It was defintely busier than usual,” said Patrick Bender, owner of the Big Town Hero on 2nd Ave. “With people taking up all the parking, we got a lot of business, especially before the show.”
The concert drew fans from all across Oregon and beyond. While concert organizers expected a big turnout, they weren’t expecting a record-setting one.
The record-setting performance comes on the heels of Sugarland’s debut album, Twice The Speed of Life, being certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, commemorating sales of more than 1,000,000 copies.
Don’t miss Sugarland’s performance of “Something More” on the CMA Music Festival TV special airing August 2 on ABC-TV.
