The Grand Ole Opry Summer Salute will honor members of the United States military this summer Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekends. The Salute kicks off Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27 with All-American Salute Signature Shows featuring tributes to the red, white, and blue on stage and military performances and displays in the Opry Plaza. Among the artists scheduled to appear Memorial Day Weekend are Ricky Skaggs, Darryl Worley, Rockie Lynne, Chely Wright, David Ball, Rhonda Vincent, and Cherryholmes. One hour of Saturday’s first show will air live on ‘Grand Ole Opry Live’ on Great American Country (GAC) at 8:00 p.m. ET featuring performances by Skaggs, Worley, Lynne, and more as well as dedications to servicemen and women overseas. Other events scheduled for May 26 and 27 include presentation of colors by the Marine Corps and the Air Force on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively, military equipment displays , and performances by Freedom Navy Band Mid-South before each show Saturday
The Opry’s Summer Salute will continue throughout the summer with other special shows and values for military personnel, including complimentary special values with an Opry ticket order, including free family photo, free concession item, free gift and bonus coupon from The Opry Shop, and a chance to win a backstage tour on the night of visit. The Opry and Gaylord Opryland Resort have also teamed to create a special ‘Night at the Opry’ package for military personnel including overnight accommodations and preferred Opry seating. Packages are available on select dates throughout the summer by calling 1-888-OPRY-872 and referring to code MILNT. Rates start at $77 per person based on double occupancy, plus tax and daily resort fee. (Extra person and extra night rate available. Some restrictions and blackout dates apply.)
Opry shows are every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night. Military personnel should mention code MIL10X when making reservations at 1-800-SEE-OPRY (733-6779). Opry performances can be seen and heard each week on the American Forces Television and Radio Networks.
