Farm Aid 2005 is taking shape as Widespread Panic, Emmylou Harris, Arlo Guthrie, John Mayer.will join Farm Aid president and founder Willie Nelson and board members Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews, as well as recently announced artists Kenny Chesney, Wilco, Los Lonely Boys, Buddy Guy and Susan Tedeschi. The message coming from the music and the musicians on stage on September 18th at the Tweeter Center in Tinley Park, IL, will be a call to action, urging Americans to choose food from family farms.

Farm Aid veterans Emmylou Harris and Arlo Guthrie will return to the stage; Harris with her exquisite vocal style and a gift for discovering the heart of a song that crosses all genres, and Guthrie with his folk stories, tales and anecdotes that are a cornerstone of his amazing musical performances. With his acoustic guitar and boundless energy, John Mayer will join Farm Aid for the first time this year performing on stage with Buddy Guy.

Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on their land. Dave Matthews joined the Farm Aid Board of Directors in 2001. Farm Aid has raised more than $27 million to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture. Through public education and direct grants, Farm Aid supports national, regional and local efforts to build and strengthen family farm food production.
