What started as a one-night event quickly turned into a monumental four-night reunion for Cross Canadian Ragweed. On September 15th, they teased fans by reactivating their social media for the first time since 2011, hinting at a long-awaited return. By October 1st, they confirmed a co-headlining show with Turnpike Troubadours on April 12, 2025, at Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater—the birthplace of Red Dirt music.
Demand was so overwhelming that after 120,000 fans pre-registered for tickets, the initial one-night show expanded to four nights. The “Boys From Oklahoma” will now play from April 10th to April 13th, 2025, with performances from Red Dirt legends like The Great Divide, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, and Stoney LaRue. On Friday, April 11th, The Mike McClure Band will replace The Great Divide, adding yet another Red Dirt heavyweight to this epic lineup.
With over 180,000 fans rushing to get their hands on presale tickets, it’s clear that Cross Canadian Ragweed’s legacy remains as strong as ever. Band members have been deeply moved by the response, with Cody Canada (lead vocalist and guitarist) expressing his gratitude: “Amazed and blown away at the love we are receiving. The biggest thing to ever happen to us. Thank you.”
The reunion is a testament to the enduring power of Red Dirt music, a genre that has gained massive attention in recent years with artists like Turnpike Troubadours and Wyatt Flores bringing it to new heights. Oklahoma’s Red Dirt scene continues to inspire a passionate following, and Cross Canadian Ragweed’s return marks a historic moment for the genre.
Even industry veterans are in awe of the reunion’s impact. Russell Doussan, president of Doussan Music Group, said, “I’ve been part of some major projects, and I have never witnessed anything like this before… this is beyond [the Guns N’ Roses reunion tour].”
Stillwater, with a population of 50,000, is preparing for an event of unprecedented scale, with Mayor Will Joyce working closely with city officials to ensure a smooth experience for attendees. Hotels, Airbnb, and rental properties within a 50-mile radius have already sold out, months ahead of the event.
This four-night residency is not just a series of concerts; it’s a cultural phenomenon, a celebration of Red Dirt music, and a chance for fans to witness a reunion that seemed impossible. Whether you’re a lifelong Ragweed fan or new to the Red Dirt scene, this event is sure to be unforgettable.
