Clint Black and a capacity crowd re-opened Buck Owens’ club the Crystal Palace Tuesday morning (April 4) with a special 8 a.m. concert. Fans started lining up at 1 a.m. The Bakersfield, California club is a popular landmark for music fans, and the last venue that the venerable Buck Owens performed in prior to his death last weekend. Black performed a one hour acoustic set, including Buck’s “Together Again.”
Black expressed a bit of sadness at the show. “…I knew I was supposed to open the place back up and we were to have a good time,” Black said. “I just kept thinking of Buck and every line of every song seemed to in some way or another to apply to the great loss.”
Clint Black is currently on a national radio tour to support his latest CD release, Drinkin’ Songs & Other Logic.
