Brad Paisley kicked off the Mud and Suds Tour with sell out crowds Friday in Verona, NY and Saturday in his hometown of Wheeling, WV. Funds raised from Saturday’s show benefit the Brad Paisley Foundation and will be distributed to Northern Panhandle Long-Term Flood Recovery Committee to help flood victims of the Upper Ohio Valley. The area experienced devastating floods in September 2004 and then again on January 5, 2005.
The Brad Paisley Foundation was also the benefactor in distributing funds to the Wheeling Skate Park Committee earlier in January. During this weekendís show, Paisley had the opportunity to meet the young man who had written him about the townís possible ban on skate boarding and the suggestion of the skateboard park. Due to the national attention that was drawn to the project because of Paisleyís involvement, numerous donations from across the country have been pledged and the vision will soon be reality. While Brad’s latest release, Mud On The Tires, continues to heat up the charts across the country, temperatures reached 22 degrees below zero when tickets for the March 6 stop of the Mud and Suds Tour in Rochester, MN went on sale this past Saturday. Despite the cold, fans still lined up early to purchase tickets. One gentleman hauled his ice fishing house to the ticket office and set up at 3:00am ñ maybe he could give Paisley some good leads on fishing holes in that area.
