The 2024 Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) always promises a rich showcase of country music acts across both weekends, with diverse performances that fans of the genre won’t want to miss. Notable country and Americana artists include headliner Chris Stapleton, whose powerful vocals and blend of country, blues, and rock drew a huge crowd Friday night. Other standout acts include viral sensation Dasha, Sturgill Simpson, known for pushing the boundaries of country music, and the ever-popular Orville Peck, whose unique mix of traditional country and indie influences has won him a devoted following.
Asleep at the Wheel, the legendary Texas swing band was only there for weekend one, but there are so many additional country and roots performers including Mickey Guyton performing this second weekend, and up-and-comers like Richy Mitch & the Coal Miners and Katie Pruitt, whose folk-tinged country is a perfect fit for the ACL vibe both weekends. The lineup also features acts like Tanner Adell, Emily Nenni, Caamp, The Red Clay Strays, Medium Build, and Tyler Halverson, ensuring a robust country music presence.
Viral sensation Dasha brought her hit song Austin (Boots Stop Workin’) to the stage in the midday lineup – check out photos of her performance here. And here’s a racap of the experience of seeing newcomer Hudson Westbrook.
